Meet Dr. Mackenzie Thaxton, Au.D., CCC-A

Dr. Mackenzie E. Thaxton received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Southern Mississippi (USM) in 2017 and her Doctor of Audiology degree from the University of Memphis (UofM) in 2021. While studying at USM, she became proficient in American Sign Language (ASL). During her time as a graduate student at the UofM, she served in several leadership roles including Philanthropy Chair and Hospitality Chair for the National Student Speech-Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA). Dr. Thaxton completed her 4th year externship at The Hearing Center at The Medical Center Clinic in Pensacola, Florida before moving back home to Memphis. She is certified to practice audiology in Tennessee and holds her certificate of clinical confidence through the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Dr. Thaxton has a passion for hearing aids, tinnitus, and aural rehabilitation. When she’s away from work, she enjoys spending time in her garden and doing flea-market flips.
